Meditation- To become aware of how we think

Today, I am refreshing an outdated front door with sanding & stains. I apply my meditation practice everything I do now. For some people, they say, walking in nature, gardening in your yard, painting & fishing is meditative. I incorporate meditation into the house projects too. Meditation practice for me is to become aware of how I feel and think. It helps me to focus & be mindful of whatever I am doing and feeling at the moment.



I started meditating about 30 years ago in the late '80s, there was not much of the resource and materials available about meditations then. When I started practicing yoga, that is when I learned it was common practice with yoga to meditate. Before I got to know people who practiced yoga, most of my friends would look at me as I was a crazy hippie or a person from out of space when I mention that I meditated😆!!

It is a good age now that more and more educators, such as Dr. Depok Chopra, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Abraham Hicks, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Bruce Lipton, Ph.D., Greg Bradon, and more teachers have come forward to introduced so many aspects and benefits of meditations from their scientific background, the reasons why meditation would benefit us, physiologically and psychologically. The information is so readily available now by technology. We have so many choices to pick from various options for healing our body and mind.


My starter of self-discovery that lead me to meditation practice was when I came across a book called " You can heal your life" published in1984 by Ms. Louis Hay (1926-2017), who was a founder of the Hay House book publishing company.


Ms. Luis Hay brought me an upbeat message with a metaphysical underpinning. She wrote that there is a link between thoughts and disease and life’s other misfortunes, and she urged people to find a positive way to spin even the worst of them.

Ms. Hay became an early example of self-improvement gospel that has sprung up over the last several decades. Few women have sold more books, and Hay House, which she started in her living room in the mid-1980s, has grown into a multimillion-dollar company handling a long roster of authors and an extensive line of products, including books, and online courses. The company also has staged lectures and workshops featuring its authors, such as Dr. Wayne Dyer and Dr. Joe Vatile


I am in awe of having a chance to come across teachers such as Ms. Hay who taught me infinite possibilities and potentialities of human beings by using our thoughts and mind to create our lives the way we want. It taught me that we all are not a victim of life, we are the creator of life. This introduction to her book made me a very important evolutional step in my 20's to go further study our minds and thoughts collaboration with our bodies.
